The Army of Mothers urge the world community to act and put pressure on both sides of the conflict to stop the military actions immediately! The conflict i complex, it’s not black and white – but the only important thing right no is to stop the killings – take care of the children and the innocent civilians.

We urge more of the Israeli people to protest against their own government, to stop the out of proportion aggressive actions, and to force them to take responibility on the humanitarian side of this conflict.

We urge the Palestinians to stop the bombing from their side and to be open to the initiative to find a peaceful solution by negotiating. It is crucial that there is a ceasefire on both sides.

How can we teach our children about the atrocities of previous wars, how can we teach our children not to fight each other – and still defend the attacks going on in Gaza these days?

We should learn from old mistakes – not do them again.

The attacks on Palestinian side are mostly harming civilians. Over 700 people are dead in Gaza, at least one third of wich are children, accoring to the UN. Many more have been wounded physically and scarred emotionally for life. Every day and night they go through stress and fear of the new and more intense attacks. Gaza is densely populated, about half of the population are children! The numbers of dead children will only keep rising. Isreali forces must take responsibility and stop the attacks! Hamas must respect the ceasefire and both need to go into dialogue with the UN and the world community.

Those of us, living far away from the centre of the conflict, safe in our homes, cannot sit still and watch this tragedy.
